The First Redskins Activities Of The Season

Posted by Brian Tinsman on July 28, 2011 – 4:48 pm

As of 4:30 p.m., football is officially back in Washington, as the Redskins took to the field for the first time as a team.  It was just a basic conditioning test at this point: run from one goal line to the other and back.  The team ran as a whole and then split into units with about a minute between “sprints.”  Strength and conditioning coach Ray Wright led the workout as other coaches looked on.

Check out the full-team footage below:

And the units:

This is not full-speed sprints, but it was a chance for a first impression between players and coaches.  Anderson Russell and Ryan Torain both were out in front of the pack, clearly motivated by offseason additions at safety and running back.  Five guys chose to run without shirts in the mid-90’s heat, including Brian Orakpo who looks like the Incredible Hulk.

More to come.

Is this really necessary. If you don’t like reading someone’s writing, say so, but don’t attack him personally.

Nice! It’s good to see the team out doing ANYTHING. Especially after the lockout. Thanks for the post.
