Practice Fields Nearly Complete For Training Camp

Posted by Brian Tinsman on July 28, 2011 – 1:05 pm

Less than 24 hours until the kickoff of Redskins training camp, the fields are just about ready to go.  Crews have worked on a compressed, ever-changing schedule to get ready for camp, and it’s starting to look really good.

Check out the panoramic views of the practice field:

This view was taken from the emblem on the turf field:

The numbers got a fresh coat of paint:

The equipment is all in place:

Hospitality tents are erected:

And the VIP area is ready to go:

The bulk of the work is out of the way and will continue to update tomorrow in advance of Saturday’s practice that’s open to the public.    Preparation for this has taken months to plan and the last two weeks to set up.

Are you ready for some football?

So Brian… has training camp started for the skins yet? Any news that you can report? How did things look? Matt Terl consistently had inside scoops on practices, are you allowed to do so also?

Also, I know we all loved Matt, I did too. But it’s not Brian’s fault that he’s gone… let him do his job the best he can, and accept it for what it is. Who knows, he may turn out being pretty good too… keep it up Brian!!

I actually didn’t expect to report anything today, but as you can see from my last post, conditioning drills happened today as part of the physicals. Training camp opens tomorrow and I’ll have tons of updates for that. Thanks for bearing with me brother

Worst facility in the NFL! I love that we still have astro turf. We keep it around incase we are playing an indoor game at the DC Armory. Tinsman, get me some intel on why we dont at least have field turf out there? Every highschool in the area has it.

Is that really astro turf? I didn’t know that stuff was still around. Also what is the status of the practice bubble that Shanahan wanted?

so, are the Redskins going to get a nose tackle at some point? or are we starting a career backup (Anthony Bryant) or a 7th round pick (Chris Neild)?

on another note, i know it’s not Brian’s fault, but i really really miss Matt Terl. it’s not nearly as fun coming here for news and insights.
