Rookie free safety DeJon Gomes. The former Nebraska Husker walked into team facilities for the first time on Tuesday morning at 9:30. He was joined shortly thereafter by teammates Logan Paulsen and cornerback Kevin Barnes.
Barnes, by the way, looks to be in great shape and went right in to greet the coaching staff and other players.
“DJ was in the door first,” Barnes said of Gomes. ”He’s off getting his first playbook.”
For Barnes, it’s good to be back in the building. The offseason work was good, but he’s ready to have practice with coaches again.
“London had some stuff to run,” he said about the player organized workouts. ” I don’t know where he got it from, but he had it. When we had the practices and everything, he came out and we ran plays, and y’know, learning sessions. We went from there. ”
There was never any question about who was in charge at those practices and the team get some good work in as a result.
“We pretty much just did what [Fletcher] told us to do. It wasn’t too bad. I mean we didn’t really miss that much.”
