Niles Paul Reviews Captain America

Posted by Matt Terl on July 22, 2011 – 10:20 am

Redskins fifth-round draft pick Niles Paul is someone who understands the myriad uses of Twitter.  He not only communicates with fans and tweets pictures of himself as Harry Potter like every other football player on Earth; he also regularly dispenses advice for the lovelorn and even reviews midnight showing of the latest geek-chic films.

Here, then, is Paul’s review of Captain America: The First Avenger, the latest installment in Marvel Comics’ ongoing experiment in cinematic universe-building.  SHORT VERSION: He does not agree with the majority at Rotten Tomatoes.

I’m not going to lie: this is disappointing news to me.  At least it sounds like Paul and safety O.J. Atogwe will have plenty to discuss.

    Matt –
Posting on this article because it’s the most recent one I can find written by you. I heard via the Hogs Haven blog that you will no longer be blogging for the Redskins website…is that true? Ifso, I’d like to say that I’ve read the site for several years now and found your articles to be informative and well-written with the perfect amount of humour and self-effacement. My best wishes to you, if in fact you’re no longer writing for this site.

I’d like to second Dave’s comments. I’ve been reading for a little over a year and I was looking forward to your insights now that the lockout is finally over. It’s a true shame they didn’t at least give you chance for a swan song post, it could have been epic.

I am so bummed to hear Matt Terl has been released. My level of “Ugh” is right there with my feelings when Grossman took over for McNabb. Matt, keep us up to date via Twitter on where you write next. So long man. This blog won’t be as good now. Man I will miss your quarter to quarter thoughts on the game.

I can’t believe they laid off Matt. I loved reading his articles. What a shame. Another Skins blunder. I think I am boycotting the blog.
