When Redskins offensive lineman Kory Lichtensteiger held a football camp, I was most impressed by the custom-logo T-shirt he was pictured wearing — but was very disappointed that I couldn’t clearly make out the entire logo. Well, I owe a big thanks to CSNWashington, because they open their profile of second-year wide receiver Terrence Austin‘s camp with this excellent lingering shot:
I really admire whomever at CSNWashington thought to themselves, ‘Hey, let’s make Matt Terl’s strange obsession with individualized logos a little bit easier.’ Impressive work.
Also impressive? Austin himself, talking about his camp. “I didn’t have camps when I was coming up,” he tells the camera. “I never was involved with a camp where a pro football player came back and actually gave back to the community, and that’s really what inspired me to do it.”
The kids in the piece look to be having a great time, and Austin’s dispensing actual advice rather than just rah-rah-ing at them. It looks to be be an excellent inaugural teaching experience for one of the Redskins’ promising young wideouts.
