See What It Takes To Become A Redskins Cheerleader

Posted by Matt Terl on June 2, 2011 – 10:01 am

I’ve written about the Redskins Cheerleader finals a few times now — here, here, here, and here, for example — and almost every time, I compare it to some kind of reality show. In fact, I used the reality show conceit as the framework for yet ANOTHER piece on the finals — for 2,000+ words. Part of this is because I have a severely limited repertoire of cultural references (and the finals are definitely NOT like a comic book), but it’s also because … well, it’s a lot like a reality show.

So much so, in fact, that the Redskins Broadcast Network has created Cheers And Tears — a six part reality show following the entire process of becoming a Redskins cheerleader, which will be airing all next week on Comcast SportsNet. I’ll have plenty more coverage of this over the next few days, but — for now — here’s a quick look at what to expect.
