Hail! Goes Throwback To The Sonny/Billy Days

Throwback: the now-legendary QB controversy between Sonny Jurgensen and Billy Kilmer. There are a few different references in this one that might be unfamiliar to some of our younger readers — not least the bumper sticker mention in the first panel — so let me point you at this article from Washingtonian magazine, which gives at least a cursory background to everything here.
One other thing I’ve learned from these Throwback episodes: Cartoon Me’s hairstyle is shockingly timeless. I mean, it fit in with Sammy Baugh in the 1930′s, it fits in with Sonny in the 1970′s … I mean, that look transcends fashion, really. My real hair … not so much.
