Brandon Banks Injured, Recovering

Wide receiver, return man, and general speedster Brandon Banks was one of the most consistent bright spots of the 2010 season. Early Saturday morning, Banks was injured outside a D.C. nightclub after attempting to help his friend, who had been attacked by a knife-wielding assailant.
According to a statement from Banks’ agent James Gould, “Brandon was injured by the assailant with a surface knife wound on his side which will require stitches. He is recovering in a local hospital and is expected to be released within 24 hours.”
The news for Banks’ friend was not as immediately reassuring — he was critically wounded and take to the hospital where he underwent surgery. And that’s where Banks’ thoughts are, according to Gould. “Brandon’s immediate concern is for his life-long friend who is like a brother to him,” Gould said. “He would like to thank everyone for their prayers and well wishes for him and his life-long friend.”
Also, Gould notes, “Brandon was not involved in any wrongdoing and was not implicated in any way.” Read more »
