Phillip Daniels’ Son Is Officially Irish

Exciting news for Redskins defensive lineman Phillip Daniels and his family on this National Signing Day, as his son DaVaris officially declares for Notre Dame. Daniels has been covering the recuiting process pretty exhaustively via Twitter, and he posted the news there this morning.

As I’ve mentioned before, Daniels is his son’s most avid fan, frequently posting YouTube videos of his highlights in multiple sports. Most recently, it was this thunderous basketball dunk — DaVaris is the one wearing 21, in honor of late Redskins safety Sean Taylor (and, even more notably, he’s the one who throws down the dunk).
