Redskins @ Lions: Redskins Inactives

Kevin Barnes is inactive today, thus depriving him of the chance to replicate his legendary vomit-inducing hit on Lions running back Jahvid Best when the two were in college. Admittedly, Barnes hasn’t had many hits like that at the pro level yet, but today would’ve been an appropriately dramatic day to start. Barnes told me he doesn’t even particularly expect to speak to Best at the game, and that the two have never even formally met. So, really, disappointments all around as far as this story goes.

Here’s the hit anyhow — skip the ending if you have a weak stomach.

The only other real surprise on the list is RB Chad Simpson. Mike Shanahan said all week that he hoped Simpson would be able to go today, and his inactive status means the Redskins go into today’s game with just two running backs up.
