Happy Honk If You Hate Dallas Day

According to the Gregorian calendar we measure dates by, today is Thursday, September 9. According to the NFL Calendar, today is the first day of the 2010 football regular season. According to the Jewish calendar, today is Rosh Hashanah — and a shana tovah to everyone! — the start of the new year. And according to the official schedule of Redskins Kickoff Week, today is Honk If You Hate Dallas Day.

You can wait until you see people holding signs encouraging you to express your hatred, or you can download printable signs here and here to encourage passing motorists to express theirs.

We had a banner out on Loudoun County Parkway earlier this morning, and it received a pretty impressive response. (Less impressive was the weird color setting on the camera, but we’ll have that fixed moving forward.) A fifteen second snippet really tells the tale; I know that fifteen seconds was about as much as I could take before the honking moved from inspirational to annoying.

So Happy Thursday, Happy Kickoff Day, Happy Jewish New Year, and, most of all, Happy Honk If You Hate Dallas Day. If you get any videos of people honking, feel free to send ‘em on in.UPDATE
