The September/October issue of Home & Design Magazine has a detailed look at LaRon Landry‘s recently renovated home. “When he’s not tackling opponents on the field,” the subhead reads, “the Redskins safety unwinds in an elegant Leesburg home.”
And a remarkable home it is. That’s the billiards room above, with “heavy custom doors” leading to the home theater — a home theater that’s decorated in burgundy and gold:
Then there’s the home gym (of course), which is done up in the purple and gold of Landry’s days at LSU.
“Despite rigorous workouts at Redskins Park,” the article says, “Landry uses his home gym every day. ‘I love to lift,’ he says. ‘At home it’s two to three hours every day. I got my music, my LSU colors. It makes me feel young and strong.'”
He’s also got, you’ll see if you look closely, custom pads on the machines that read Dirty 30 (much like his shoes, only without the extra R).
The best line of the entire piece, though, is reserved for the kitchen.
“I love the open kitchen area because Gucci [Landry’s white-face capuchin monkey] and my dog Trauma are close to the action-and food,” says Landry.
I mean, I love every single thing about that paragraph, and I bet it’s one that writer Sharon Jaffe Dan never, ever thought she’d string together.
Much, much more in the article.
