The Devin Thomas-Fantasia Thing Continues

The latest entry in today’s unplanned theme day of Embedded Video Thursday is the latest update in the ongoing saga of Devin Thomas appearing in a Fantasia video. On last night’s 106 & Park on BET, Fantasia appeared to promote her new video — the one in which Thomas is a co-star — and host Terrence J had a surprise for her. (Fast forward to the 3:00 minute mark.)

For those of you without any patience for this video, the scintillating transcription is after the jump.
After showing the video, host Terrence J, notes, “The ladies in the audience are goin’ crazy over your co-star in the video….”

“Yeah, he was hot, right?” Fantasia says. “Yeah, he plays football for the Redskins. Ladies, I think he’s single…. He was hot Terrence, I’m sorry. He was.”

Terrence asks “Really? Is there anything goin’ on there?” as the crowd goes nuts and the camera cuts to Thomas walking out from backstage with a bouquet of flowers.

Fantasia starts to say, “No, there’s nothing–” but Terrence cuts her off as Thomas shows up with the flowers.

“You sure about that?” Terrence says. Thomas gives Fantasia the flowers, the two hug, and Terrence explains, “We wanted to surprise you for your birthday. We got Devin Thomas of the Washington Redskins in the building. Thank you so much for coming through.”

And, really, that’s about it. I was hoping they would ask Fantasia about the Larry Johnson vs. Devin Thomas question, but instead they presented her with a cake. She seemed really about the cake, which was kind of nice. So … happy birthday to Fantasia, I guess.
