Back On The Field

Posted by Matt Terl on April 16, 2010 – 1:08 pm

The first voluntary minicamp of the Mike Shanahan/Bruce Allen era starts today, and it’s pretty much exactly the same as — wait a second, is that Larry Johnson and Willie Parker with Clinton Portis?!?!?

It is. And there were a lot of those moments out on the field today. Guys who are new to the Redskins. Guys who have been on the Redskins but have new numbers (Lorenzo Alexander in 97, for example). New coaches everywhere. It’s all going to take some getting used to, but the energy level today seemed high and the weather was gorgeous, so I suppose you can call that a solid start.

More pictures after the jump.

If you look closely, you can see Donovan McNabb grinning. Anyone who even seems happy in practice is okay by me.

Number 36 is Darrel Young, who has moved from LB to FB.

I have no idea how Marko Mitchell can catch the ball with his gloves flapping in front of his face.

Seeing the specialists out there without Ethan Albright was almost as bizarre as seeing McNabb and LJ in Redskins gear. Graham Gano is now the senior Redskin in the specialists group.

Photographic proof that, yes, Carlos Rogers and Clinton Portis were both here. And, as promised yesterday, here’s Colt Brennan in a Redskins 15. I like it. Makes him look positively Collins-esque.
