Meet The Coaches – Chris Foerster, Offensive Line
Posted by Matt Terl on February 17, 2010 – 4:50 pmChris Foerster has possibly the toughest job in the building, for two reasons.
First, because he’s the new coach of the much-maligned offensive line, a unit that might well bear no resemblance to what we saw on opening day of last season. And second because he’s working on that while filling the shoes of the much-beloved, hugely-respected Joe Bugel. And Larry Michael asked Foerster about both of those things, repeatedly, during this segment of Inside The Redskins.

Mel Kiper Changes His Tune: Jimmy Clausen
Posted by Matt Terl on February 17, 2010 – 3:12 pm
When last we checked in with ESPN’s Mel Kiper, the well-coiffed draft guru was predicting that the Redskins would select Sam Bradford, quarterback out of Oklahoma, with the fourth overall pick in the upcoming draft. With version 2.0 of his draft now on the record, Kiper’s in the same QB-tastic church, just at a slightly different pew:
Kiper now predicts the Redskins will select Jimmy Clausen, QB out of Notre Dame.
John Keim of the Washington Examiner has Kiper’s reasoning FOR Clausen:

Find Redskins Fans With The ExtremeSkins Fan Map
Posted by Matt Terl on February 17, 2010 – 2:26 pmIf you should ever find yourself in the middle of Kentucky, wondering if there’s a Redskins fan nearby to help you (for example) remember which games the team wore their alternate uniforms for during the 2002 season, the ExtremeSkins Fan Map is the resource for you.
As people add their locations (or reasonable approximations thereof) to the map, it will help Redskins fans find each other no matter what state they’re in. Or you could add Redskins bars like the the Sly Fox in Baltimore or Maeve, home of the Chicago Redskins Fan Club.
I have no particular connection to this map or its creation (although I’m happy to add out-of-state Redskins bars if people send them to me); I just thought it was an idea with a lot of potential, and thus worth mentioning. Read more »

Wednesday, February 17: Another New Addition To The Coaching Staff
Posted by Matt Terl on February 17, 2010 – 10:25 amThe Redskins new coaching staff — already notably larger than last year’s — grew by another member today, as the team added Richmond Flowers as a coaching assistant. Flowers was a wide receiver at Duke, with the Barcelona Dragons, and on the fringes of the NFL.
He was drafted in the seventh round by Jacksonville (joining Bruce Allen and Keenan McCardell as last-round draft choices now affiliated with the team), spent most of that year on Dallas’ practice squad, the following year on the Redskins’ practice squad, and the 2003 preseason with the Redskins as well.
Flowers’ father was an NFL player as well, but what the younger Flowers is probably best known for is his 2002 stint a training camp with the Dallas Cowboys, which was captured for that year’s season of HBO’s Hard Knocks.
