Redskins @ Eagles - Third Quarter Thoughts

Jason Campbell is having an up-and-down game today, but credit where credit's due: he killed it that quarter. The touchdown drive was 75% Campbell, buying time with his legs, finding guys when the play had broken down, and just generally doing all those things you want a quarterback to do. The other 25% was Fred Davis, who had a third-down catch-and-rumble down the sidelines tenacious enough that the pressbox announcer tried to call the play down eight yards before it was over.
Credit also to the Redskins defense, which has made life difficult for the Eagles even in the absence of Albert Haynesworth and DeAngelo Hall, and the non-Clinton Portis running backs as Quinton Ganther joined Marcus Mason in having a good game. (Ganther through three: 5 carries, 32 yards.)
But this is the second straight week that the Redskins have had the lead heading into the fourth, and ... well, we all know how last week turned out. As the third ends, though, Redskins 21, Eagles 16.

is it just me, or with Cerrato's reprobate celebrities in street clothes on the sideline, is this team at least exciting to watch, and worthy of support?
I know that they lost - again - but I feel a little bad when these guys lose. I didn't feel that way for the prima donna's.
That being said, I wouldn't want anything to put a seal of approval on the Snyder/Cerrato experiment - and it only takes 1 win for our starved fans to jump right back on the wagon.

UNREAL!!! 2 f u kin weeks in a row division games can,t hold on! Why do we set ourselves up for dissapointment week after week? Maybee should have been a kittle more aggressive and tried a TD pass instead of playing the "redskins way" and play safe with a field goal. "oh 8 points will be plenty" Dopes!!!! And whynot run the ball on 4th and one , convert and spike? Throw?? that throw looked like Vicks throw. Just sick to my stomach!!!!

Inescapable truths:
1. Haynesworth is a big fat baby. Can he be unloaded?
2. Campbell is incapable of executing in the clutch.
3. If you want to know exactly HOW the Redskins will lose, simply look at the score board at the start of the 4th Quarter, and do the math. It works week after week.
4. I thought torture was outlawed! This torture has gone on for 11 weeks now. Get me out of here! I'd rather live in DETROIT.
5. Zorn doesn't have what it takes.

come on guys cheer up, with all this awesome losing were almost guaranteed to get McCoy. with this team sucking so bad the only thing I've been looking forward to is a draft pick since we lost to the Chiefs. that really is the only thing to be happy about cause even if they win more games we'll have a garbage pick and won't make the playoffs, so ill just stop watching games until next season. the only thing we can watch now is the Caps cause the Wizards are almost as bad as the Skins.

This was definitely a sad loss. A total breakdown in the fourth quarter. Have to admit, Campbells play has improved, but find his style of football so unexciting to watch, bordering on boredom. He just doesn't have the ability to get his team & crowd excited. Best he move on & let the new young QB's take over after this year.

Zorn,"OK Jason, look, we're up by 8 but it's not too late to lose. I'll make sure we get the defense to lay down. After the Eagles score, you throw a pick, or put it on the ground. Keep your head up, Jason, that bookie won't get our money this week either."
Campbell,"Thanks coach. But if I keep throwing games somebody might catch on."
Zorn, "Don't worry about that. Dan's got the same bookie and he took the Eagles too!"

hey jaytee2000 last week i took up for campbell and defended him when most of the redskins nation threw him under the bus but this week i cant block the shots anymore....as a matter of fact ima throw my self....where do i start,Oh here u go!! skins lost the game cuz campbell dont know how to form tackle Lesean Mcoy at the line of scrimage,or better yet skins lost the game because campbell got scorched for a skinny post route late in the 4th NO NO here's a good one skins lost the game because campbell failed to cover jason avant for two consecutive 1st downs....OOOOOHH thats right campbell dont pay defense at all..bottom line the defense was supposed to protect that 8 point lead and the winning comeback drive shouldnt have been on campbells shoulders....is that creative enough for you jaytee2000

and when the D gives up the lead what is Campbell supposed to do... lead the game winning drive. D'oh!! Romo can do it. McNabb did it. I mean seriously, seriously, for cereal, r u serious, c'mon man, seriously, seriously... let's keep campbell and have 5 more years of losing and every year we'll blame the coaches, the o line, the running backs, the recievers, the defences, the fans, the draft, offensive coordinator, cerrato, snyder, ur granny, my daddy, the cowboys and everybody. this is professional football. no excuses allowed. u get it done or u don't.
