Wednesday, November 11: Veterans Day Links

Posted by Matt Terl on November 11, 2009 – 10:00 am

Practice has been rescheduled this morning because of weather, and that always confuses my schedule of posts. So I’m starting this Veterans Day off with some links. Since most of these have nothing to do with Veterans Day, though, I’ll open with this link to a Mental Floss compilation of videos of dogs welcoming soldiers home (via @Unsilent).

More Redskins-centric links below.

  • Want to know some incredibly specific details about Joe Theismann’s likes and dislikes? Sporting News Today has got you covered. (Sample: “Motto: It’s nice to be important, but it’s more important to be nice.”)
  • Dan Steinberg of the DC Sports Bog was one of the main chroniclers of the Steeler Fan Invasion of FedExField last season; now he’s rethinking just how to assign credit (or blame) for that one — because, in case you missed it, Invesco Field at Mile High got taken over on Monday night.
  • A blog called Snarktastic snarks on the Redskins/Falcons game. (Mild language warning.)
  • Chris Cooley‘s charity art show looms ever closer. Here are some more details.
  • Homer McFanboy has been agitating for playing time for Marko Mitchell all season. Now he’s asking around the locker room for reviews of Mitchell’s two catches — including Malcolm Kelly‘s, which I found particularly interesting.
  • The Redskins 360 blog at the Washington Times has a recap of radio appearances by Clinton Portis and DeAngelo Hall yesterday.
  • And, in a link that’s more or less guaranteed to irritate some of the regular commenters here, the folks at Football Outsiders mount a little bit of a defense of Jason Campbell‘s performance Sunday.
