During his daily media chat session, head coach Jim Zorn was asked his opinion on Greg Blache’s impassioned defense of Daniel Snyder. You might have thought — given all the reports that swirled around Sherm Lewis taking over play-calling duties — that this might’ve been a tense moment, but that wasn’t how it played out at all.
Zorn didn’t hesitate before agreeing with Blache and offering up his own defense of the owner — and taking responsibility for a big chunk of the problem.
“Dan Snyder is a guy that absolutely cares about other people. He does not have that kind of [dark heart] attitude,” Zorn said.
“And I haven’t been here all that long — I haven’t been here as long as Greg has been here — but I have seen time and time again Dan reach to anybody in this program, even the secondary parts of this program, and help in any way he can when there’s need. I’ve seen it. And I would concur with what Greg had to say about Dan really caring about winning. I mean, I really do.”
Asked to address all the drama of this season, he continued, “Some of the words that are said are just so harsh. I mean, gosh. It’s just ALL the time, it just seems like everybody’s down. And part of that is on me. We’re losing. And that creates issues. And I think that’s more of the problem than anything: it’s losing. And I wanna help change that.”
