Saturday, October 10: Renaldo Wynn Released For Punter

Well, that answers that question. Since head coach Jim Zorn mentioned yesterday that Hunter Smith would be inactive Sunday and Glenn Pakulak would handle the punting and holding duties, there’s been a bunch of speculation as to who would be released from the active roster to clear room for the replacement punter.
Now we know: it’s veteran defensive lineman Renaldo Wynn. It’s a logical choice; Wynn has been inactive for all four games thus far, and — given his age — seems unlikely to be snapped up to another team. Which means he’d probably still be available if the team hopes to re-sign him once Smith is healthy again.
But all that is in the future; for now, it’s pretty simple: Pakulak is in and Wynn is out. Read more »
