Redskins @ Lions – Third Quarter Thoughts

All right, finally a few reasons for a little bit of positivity: on the Redskins first offensive series of the half, they successfully ran to the right side (12 yards by Clinton Portis) and successfully completed a long pass to Santana Moss for a touchdown. Also, the defense finally stiffened up a bit, holding the Lions scoreless.
Which is not to say that everything was sunshine and roses. Jason Campbell has developed a strange problem this game with unassisted fumbles, and the injuries continue to mount. This time: London Fletcher with a rib contusion; return probable.
It’s been a grim game, frustrating to watch, but the deficit at this point is only one score which — frankly — is probably more than the Redskins should be able to hope for given how they’ve played.
