2009 Captain's Photo, Take One
Remember last year's team captains photo? The one where Cornelius Griffin said his teammates told the six captains "You look gangster'? Well, today was scheduled to be the updated version, and -- largely thanks to Jason Campbell's choice of ensembles -- things did not go exactly as planned.

"You know, there's nothing gangster about what Jason's got on right now," said Mike Sellers, a first-year captain. "Everybody wore their dark suits, but Jason wore a light gray suit, which don't make no sense."
The six captains had reminders put in their lockers to ensure that they brought suits, which are not part of the usual Monday attire. "The note said black or gray suits," Rock Cartwright said, "and he wore the lightest gray suit he could find. He looked good, but he stuck out like a sore thumb. That's Jason, though. I guess he's the quarterback, he can do whatever he wants."
Cornelius Griffin shrugged it off. "Honestly, the paper did say black or gray," he said. "It didn't say what shade of gray. I would've gone charcoal gray, but that's gray."
"Maybe you should stand in front of us, since you're in the different colored suit," Cartwright suggested.

For his part, Campbell was just resigned to the whole situation. "My foot hurts," he said. "I already forgot my suit so I had to run back home and get it. I wish one of them would have worn a gray suit or something so we could've just gotten this done."
Instead, the photo shoot was rescheduled for later in the week, at which time Campbell will presumably bring a darker gray suit. But the mention of Campbell's hurt foot was enough to start Sellers down yet another track.
"He's wearing slip-on Uggs," Sellers pointed out, laughing.
"You know what's different with Mike as a captain?" Campbell said to me, by way of responding to Sellers. "Our pictures gonna have to be wider so that we can fit his head into it."
Griffin looked the quarterback up and down again, taking in the suit, the soft shoes, everything else. "He's got the gray suit," he said. "He has ankle issues, so he couldn't get his foot in his shoes." Griffin shook his head. "Really, he's a hot mess."

Looks like Samuels & Cartwright (and possibly Fletcher) were wearing blue suits.
What is so hard to understand about wearing a "Black or Grey" suit?

ok, now you're just blindly hating on the guy. Despite the ugly win, Jason had a tremendous game yesterday and is really starting to live up to all the expectations.
Quit acting like a child and get over yourself.

Jason Campbell has a QB Rating of 89.0 and a 68.9% completion rate over the first two weeks. Tom Brady? 76.8 QB Rating and 62% Completion rate...I guess New England should bench Brady because he can't even put up better numbers than Campbell right now.

Maybe Zorn should of called a timeout so they could find a dark suit. They can't even get their stuff together off the field. The coaching is really bad. Game planning, time management ect....Zorn is in over his head! Same nucleus from the Gibbs era. ........AND the offense is the same! Im just confused as to why things are so bad. We Need a spark! Why doesn't anyone talk about the 1st play of the game, a blatant underthrow to a wide open receiver. Any average joe could make that throw!

Are you telling me that Tom Brady, Peyton Manning and Drew Brees NEVER...NEVER EVER under throw or over throw their receivers? You find me one QB who has 100% completion percentage in the history of the league or one who has NEVER missed their target when they've had time to throw...you can't! Even Tom Brady makes bad throws! The best completion rate in NFL history is ONLY 66% with Chad Pennington! Campbell has completed 68.9% of his passes in the past 2 weeks...he is NOT, and I repeat NOT (and never has been) the issue!

Matt, good stuff. I was getting a tired of hearing all the "fans" crying about the "win" on Sunday. This is a nice change of pace.
The gray suit was cool, but Jason could have cut the whole thing and just got treatment on his foot....

It's not JC's suit that bothers me. the shoes just plain don't match. maybe the mouse has fallen off the treadmill inside his head. Stevie Wonder could go into his closet and return with a pair of black shoes.

Why do you think there is someone better because obviously the players don't. Team Captians are voted on by the players themselves...apparently the TEAM seems to think Jason is a leader and they support him in that because they believe in him.

During the Lions game, could someone tell Zorn to call a QB bootleg if we get to the 2,3, or 4 yard lines?
