The Redskins' Undrafted Free Agent Class
The Redskins have agreed to terms with thirteen undrafted free agents. QB Chase Daniel is the biggest name, and Concordia College -- the NAIA school in Alabama that produced WR John Halman -- is probably the most unfamiliar. (Although this interview with Halman makes him sound like a confident, intriguing prospect -- another big, strong WR who runs a 4.4 40 yard dash.)With Daniel onboard, the Redskins preseason QB depth chart now contains half of the finalists for the 2007 Heisman Trophy, hence the picture to the right, from the finalists' trip to New York for the presentation.
More to come on these guys, but for now, here's the list:
- Chase Daniel, QB, Missouri
- Edwin Williams, C, Maryland
- Scott Burley, OL, Maryland
- Robert Agnone, TE, Delaware
- Devin Frischknecht, TE, Washington State
- John Halman, WR, Concordia
- Jaison Williams, WR, Oregon
- Derek Walker, DE, Illinois
- Antonio Dixon, DT, Miami (FL)
- Brigham Harwell, DT, UCLA
- Ronnie Palmer, LB, Arizona
- Lendy Holmes, S, Oklahoma
- Doug Dutch, CB, Michigan

Did Dockery's brother, Cedric, get drafted or signed as FA anywhere? I thought for sure he'd get a hard look by the Redskins

From the 49ers WebZone:
"The New Orleans Saints have signed undrafted free-agent OG Cedric Dockery (Texas). Terms of the contract were not disclosed."

I'm still flaming mad at some of the day two picks and I'm even more mad now that we didn't sign a few guys that went undrafted! What's with all the Maryland guys and where are the Virginia Tech guys?! Last time I checked we beat Maryland in the ACC every year! We should've been all over VT's Orion Martin and Ryan Shuman immediately following the draft! There's another ACC guy that would've fit perfectly for us too...Brian Toal from Boston College!

I'm sure all the Colt Brennan fans are happy to see Chase Daniels get picked up.
While I've got mixed feelings about the draft, obviously there wasn't a lot of O-line talent later in the rounds, I still think we haven't fixed our problems there in free agency or the draft, or after the draft.
Our defense can get a lot better just by our offense staying on the field, and that takes good O-line play. How are we really any better than last year? Hoping Thomas is healthy after 2 years of not being healthy? Kendall played out of his mind, so dockery can't be a huge upgrade, plus we get his standard 2 false starts a game back. Everyone else is older. With The Giants, Eagles, and Dallas' pass rush we should have done better for our offensive line.

Correction: Apparently Graham Harrell Has Signed With Dallas and Not With Carolina As Some Sources Reported Earlier...All The Better, Brennan vs Harrell As Division Rivals...

DOUG DUTCH! Awesome signing! He was so good at Gonzaga, and just got stuck behind too many NFL WRs in college (Edwards, Manningham, Arrington, Avant, Breaston).
GREAT pick up Skins.

Edwin Williams could be good...he was top 10 in national center rankings and was on Rimington Trophy "watch list," which is, uh, almost like being a finalist.

I don't really think the Redskins need a TE, but I'm rooting for Robert Agnone, since I'm a Delaware Blue Hen myself!!!

The Wonderlic test is a 12-minute, 50-question test commonly given to NFL prospects as a measure of intelligence, designed to test learning and problem-solving skills. Questions increase in difficulty, so few prospects finish all 50 questions, and players are instructed before the test to answer the questions sequentially. The score is the number of questions answered correctly.
Jason Campbell 28
Todd Collins ?
Colt Brennan 24
Chase Daniel Missouri 27
btw
Eli Manning 39
Tony Romo 30
Donovan McNabb 12
oh, and...
Mark Sanchez 28

The Jets waived Marcus Mason. Can the Skins pick him up. I don't know what the rules are on how many guys you can bring to mini-camp and training camp.

Kodybear555,
I sure hope the Skins do sign Mason! I know there are the pre-season warriors who never make it to the big show but I thought he was way too promising a talent to let go. This is a second chance for the Skins to do the right thing and get him on the roster. I think Mason could be just as good as Betts and certainly would cost less under the salary cap. If one of those other kick return specialists the Skins brought in work out, that would make Rock Cartwright expendable.
Don't get me wrong. I like both Betts and Cartwright but the Skins really don't carry many running backs on the 53-man roster so there would be a hard decision to make at some point if they re-sign Mason.

Correction: Graham Harrell signed with The Browns, as stated by "Riley81"...It was Reported Earlier that Harrell signed with The Panthers, and then Reported, that He Did Not Sign With The Panthers, but Signed with The Cowboys...All this Misinformation Should Not Be Reported Until "The Particular Media" Reporting It is Absolutely Sure...
