Friday, April 24: That May Have Been A Really Short Punter Battle (Updated)
The Redskins have agreed to terms with punter Hunter Smith, which -- given Smith's career statistics and the fact that he ranked 12th in gross and 10th in net on his 53 punts last season -- seems likely to put an end to the training camp punter battle that everyone was looking forward to.
But hey, if it means we can trot out a punter who once made up for a bad punt by tackling Deion Sanders inside the five -- and who pinned 23 punts inside the twenty in 2008 with only two touchbacks -- missing the punter battle seems A-OK with me.
UPDATE: And when it turns out that he's one half of Connersvine, a contemporary Christian band, for which he also blogs -- (dislikes: Adam Lambert's terrible cover of Ring Of Fire on American Idol; promos for Hell's Kitchen; likes: pets, ducklings) -- well ... I don't think A-OK really covers it.

Thats funny this guy rob Synder with an ink pen and some how he makes it on the redskins blog. Deion is a piece of s#!t. Nobody wants Campbell as a starter thats why you dont hear him asking for a trade becuse no matter where he goes he will not get a starting job. He knows that. Only the Redskins give give good college players and totall nfl BUST a starting job.

Maybe they don't want anyone in Redskinz nation to know that Mark Sanchez was arrested for assaulting a female during his freshman year at USC. See Google...."Mark Sanchez" + Assault"
How has that info not surfaced?
Maybe Danny and Vinnie (AKA Ricky and Lucy) don't value all that Jason Campbell has done as a contributing member of the team. A team that senior management does not have the skill or patience to develop thru any kind of sound, reasoned approach.
No Ricky and Lucy really don't care about building a quality, WINNING team.....they care about lime light and personal attention. Ricky likes to schmoooze with celebs and Lucy likes whatever Ricky likes. OH and they like $$$$ from all the folks who support their ill devised schemes.
So the Redskinz have a self licking ice cream cone at the highest levels of leadership and management......and character and professionalism.....and WINNING......who cares?
This team has legitimate needs that should be focused on with the draft one day away......QB is not one of them.
If we had serious football heavy weights.....like Bill P in Miami we'd have some level of confidence that we had a chance of going forward and in the right direction. In one year Bill P took a 1-15 team into the playoffs. In one decade Ricky and Lucy have gotten us no where.....just tredding water and collecting $$$.
The Redskinz need help at OL, DL and LB. The Redskinz do not need a QB....we have one.
But Ricky and Lucy.....they don't get it.
The Redskinz nation deserves better!!!

Gotta give credit to Cerrato & Co. on this Hunter Smith signing though. They finally have a professional punter now and they can go ahead and cut these journeymen in camp.
