Albert Haynesworth Agrees To Terms

The Redskins have agreed to terms with free agent DT Albert Haynesworth. A press conference is scheduled for five p.m. at Redskins Park.
I'll have more specifics later in the day, and I'm pretty interested to hear how this went down -- when I left Redskins Park late last night (or, I suppose, early this morning), I was under the impression that if anything like this was going to happen, it wouldn't be quite this quick. More as I hear it.

Here we go....How many "Trying to buy a SB" comments are we going to hear now? I REALLY hope this works out because I'm sick and tired of having to defend this team on FA picks...for the next 10 years...

Haynesworth and Hall. Sweet. Pick up a LB and the defense should be set. Hopefully Daniels comes back HEALTHY too.
My guess is the Skins will now trade down from the 1st round and pick up some O lineman for depth.
I wonder/hope if there is any $$ left to bring Dockery back?
Gotta give Mr. Snyder an A for effort.........GO SKINS!

Hey!!!!
I thought our issues last year were offensive????? I understand what significants it will have if he reaches his potential, but the last thing i remember last year was not being able to score??? Unless were planning on scoring more defensively what are we gonna do to address the 30-40 plus sacks that Campbell tried to survive last year???
GOD BLESS THE SKINS!!!!!
(Someone please help me understand the logic of a top 10 rush defense adding this guy. and a 100 mil. for 8.5 sacks sounds like alot)

Just wanted to let you know this guy is the best DT in the game and I bet if you put him at the end he would be the best at that. The guy might have been a lil bit overpaid but the best thing is that he is young hes not like Taylor or Carter being signed in there 30s we have finally signed the young guys! We bring back Hall(25) for 5 yrs and Haynesworth(27) for 7 its a very smart move on our side. We have two guys that can change the tempo of a game one who has tried but our offense failed to respond. Now he has a chance to get 50million more if he met incentives and this guy looks like hes going to go after it!

Say what you will about Snyder. The guy steps up and keeps rolling them in. He wants to win. And as fans it's time to consider the alternative - we could be the Cardinals or any number of teams who don't pay up. This is a GREAT move. I don't CARE how much it costs - I don't care about dollars... I care about talent and my team just stepped up - BIG time. And the fact that he stomped on a Cowboy's bare head just makes it extra sweet.... ESPN says that he has a bad attidude for that... I wish we had 45 more guys who would stomp on Cowboy heads. It's about TIME!!!! Way to go Skins!!!!!!

Wow theres good and bad to this. He could turn out to be a bust if he starts getting lazy. And 100 million is a lot for any player, even if it's a qb. Hopefully this works out and its a great pickup. Our defense is set if we get a LB and young DE's. Although why would we give him a 7 year contract hes gonna be old in like 4-5 years and won't be able to deliver for what hes worth moneywise.
I like the pickup but if we get our offense going (j.campbell) were sick, although next year we're gonna need to sign a qb next year after we release campbell and won't have money to.
just pick up some young OL in the draft and sign a LB

Honestly I am happy about this Haynesworth and Hall around 154 mill for thos guys in one night that is so sweet seriously! Now we have one thing to fill in and thats LB (like what Ray Minor said). I cant wait to see what happens next. I also knew that they would re-sign Hall it doesnt matter about the money honestly it grows off trees for DS so it doesnt make a difference as for offense thats why the draft exsist. Young guys on the line and dline Cowboys are gonna have it rough this year I really really really feel bad for Romo wait! no i dont! Hail

Eric, that attitude disgusts me. That is not at all the actions of a "true Redskin."
I'm with skinsnut on the needs of the team.
If ten years of Snyder history is any indication, this will be a huge bust and Haynesworth will NOT play to his potential and will NOT earn his money. Albert Haynes-not-worth-it.
We don't need guys w/ bad attitudes either. Are we trying to become Cowboys East?
I hope I am wrong.

Yea i know 100 million is alot to pay for haynesworth and it's obvious the team overpaid, but with the way free agency works, players like haynesworth are gonna get overpaid because their in such high demand. Teams will be willing to pay almost anything to have a player like him. If he didn't sign with the skins, he would have gotten this kind of deal somewhere else. Plus 8.5 sacks for a DT is actually pretty good considering he was also injured part of the season. What I like about Haynesworth though is the disruption that he brings to the other teams o-line. He is so often double and triple teamed that other rushers get a chance to make plays and that's really what the skins need.

I think this is a great signing. He will make everyone on the defense around him better. He might even make Jason Taylor worth the money. You can't block Jason Taylor, Albert Haynesworth, and Andre Carter. I know people are gonna say this is just Dan Snyder throwing money at people and trying to buy a Superbowl, but the guy grew up a Skins fan and he has a ton of money. Tell me you wouldn't do the same if you had the chance?

I don't agree to either of these signings! Once again our hopes are pinned on a couple of guys that get huge press as our future and they have a combined 1/2 season Skins experience between them. This might be another Kearse deal, we'll see.
